Get creative with this 4 week mixed media class taught by local artist Sage Neighbors! Students will play with color, texture, blending, and technique while layering chalk pastel over acrylic paint for a vibrant and unique look. Perfect for artists looking to break free from traditional painting constraints and experiment with new, dynamic combinations. Very basic acrylic paint skills recommended.
Sage Neighbors has experience as a graphic designer in New York for over twenty years, and then she transitioned to scenic art painting, mainly in Florida. Sage has studied with various well known artists, and is now passing on her knowledge during her painting and drawing classes at Windsor Art Center.
All classes are held in the train station studio classroom. Do not attend if you feel sick. Please review our Registration and Payment Policy page before signing up. Email classes@windsorartcenter.org for more information.
THE CHARLES F. BENDZANS SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Charles F. Bendzans grew up in Windsor, was awarded fine arts degrees from The University of Connecticut and Michigan’s Cranbrook Academy of Art, and then went on to become a nationally recognized artist. While oil painting was his passion, he loved all forms of visual art, from printmaking to photography to jewelry design and everything in between. Although he moved to Louisiana as a young man, Charles continued to keep a close watch on what was happening in Windsor, and never passed up an opportunity to brag about his beloved hometown (and UCONN Huskies). He considered Windsor Art Center to be an extraordinarily fantastic asset to the town. Throughout his adult life and until his death in 2019, Charles was also committed to teaching and mentoring others; he felt an obligation to help other artists become they very best that they could be. It is hoped that his mentoring will continue in part through The Charles F. Bendzans Scholarship Fund.
