Held in: Windsor Art Center gallery
Connect with your family and friends over art! Artists ages 5–100 are invited to paint fluid, colorful watercolor creations on squares which will then be connected into one giant quilt by We Are More artist Jackie Decker. This project is designed to show that individually we are great, but together we are more. No art is experience required–a short demo will be given on how to use the medium! All participants must be over the age of 5, and must be accompanied by an adult who is also participating. Individual adults of all ages are encouraged to participate, too!
This is not a drop-in event, as everyone will be creating multiple squares based on prompts from Jackie for the duration of the workshop. However, participants are welcome to work at their own speed and experience level, focusing on creating alongside their family and friends!
Jacqueline is known for creating fresh, dynamic collections for home decor, tabletop, social expressions, and gift industries. Her collections include a wide array of themes ranging from sophisticated botanicals to nostalgic seasonal imagery to endearing juvenile collections. Jacqueline is a Professor of Fine Art and the Program Coordinator for the Visual Fine Arts and Photography program at Tunxis Community College. She is also a faculty member for Hartford Art School’s Master of Fine Arts in Illustration program.
This class is held in the gallery instead of our classroom. Do not attend if you feel sick. Please review our Registration and Payment Policy page before signing up. Email classes@windsorartcenter.org for more information.
THE CHARLES F. BENDZANS SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Charles F. Bendzans Scholarship Fund gives students and artists from all backgrounds a chance to take Windsor Art Center classes at a discounted rate. If you need financial support and would like to apply for this scholarship, please email Michelle at classes@windsorartcenter.org
Charles F. Bendzans grew up in Windsor, was awarded fine arts degrees from The University of Connecticut and Michigan’s Cranbrook Academy of Art, and then went on to become a nationally recognized artist. While oil painting was his passion, he loved all forms of visual art, from printmaking to photography to jewelry design and everything in between. Although he moved to Louisiana as a young man, Charles continued to keep a close watch on what was happening in Windsor, and never passed up an opportunity to brag about his beloved hometown (and UCONN Huskies). He considered Windsor Art Center to be an extraordinarily fantastic asset to the town. Throughout his adult life and until his death in 2019, Charles was also committed to teaching and mentoring others; he felt an obligation to help other artists become they very best that they could be. It is hoped that his mentoring will continue in part through The Charles F. Bendzans Scholarship Fund.
