As a part of Make Music Day, join Windsor Art Center on the Town Green for a Latin Jazz performance by Nelson Bello & Friends! Free to attend. This will be held from 1–2:30pm in front of Town Hall, so bring a lawn chair, blanket, and your favorite snacks!

International Make Music Day is a celebration all over town with music performed by anyone, and free for everyone! Check out https://makemusicday.org/windsor/ to see what other performances are happening, including a saxophone concert at First Church and music in front of both The Bean and Likkle Patty shop!

 

MORE ABOUT NELSON

Nelson is a Hartford-based recording artist, bandleader, accompanist, and all-around Latin percussionist who performs frequently with bands throughout Connecticut, New York City, Boston and in Puerto Rico. As a teenager Bello performed in Cuba with the band Insight. He studied at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, the Hartford Conservatory and under Jackie McLean at The Artists Collective. In addition to live performances and recording sessions, Nelson is a dedicated advocate for arts education and has served on the steering committee for Make Music Hartford. Starting in France in 1982, Make Music Day has spread throughout the world and is now celebrated in more than 2,000 cities across dozens of countries. On June 21, 2024, 141 U.S. cities organized 5,304 free concerts, with over 100 each in Aberdeen WA, Chattanooga TN, Fairfield CT, Fullerton CA, Kansas City MO, Madison WI, New York NY, Salem OR, and Southeastern CT…all on a single day.
