Featuring artists: Naomi Nevo Ben Ari, Zvi Goldman, and Kenneth Zablotsky

Walking with the World features three artists who work in multiple mediums, often using found, natural, or handmade sources for their art.  The Windsor Art Center seeks to highlight each artist’s own take on how they find, transform, interpret and connect materials to the world, and vice versa.  Each has a mix of two- and three- dimensional pieces, and we’re hoping for an immersive experience for the audience, to be surrounded by different visions for wood, clay, and found materials.

Artist Bios: 

Naomi Nevo Ben Ari

Naomi Nevo Ben Ari is an Israeli-born and Connecticut-based artist. Her work has been exhibited at venues such as The Mystic Museum of Art, Mystic, Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, Boston, and events such as Park(ing) Day, Hartford. As a finalist in the 2019 AXA Art Prize exhibition, her work was also shown in San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco, Richard Gray Gallery, Chicago, and New York Academy of Art, New York City. Nevo Ben Ari has been featured in Artscope and The Connecticut Landscape Architect, and is the recipient of awards such as Art Show International’s Still Life Merit Prize, Brattleboro Museum’s Artful Ice Shanties outdoor exhibit Honorable Mention and the Jeffrey A. Shoham Purchase prize at the University of Hartford. Recently, Nevo Ben Ari was the artist in residence at Farmington Valley Arts Center, and a resident at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center. Nevo Ben Ari received a BLA from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and a BFA from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford in Connecticut.

Zvi Goldman

Zvi is a contemplative and narrative driven abstract conceptual sculptor. His goal is to balance intrinsic aesthetics and thought-provoking meaning, and express life, humanity, and the natural world. Working primarily with wood and clay, Zvi utilizes a holistic approach characterized by organic, flowing, and connected outlines. Every sculpture reveals unique views from each direction with no redundant symmetry lines. The base is integrated as a part of the overall design. The exploration of new ideas and concepts is more important to Zvi than replicating a concept within a series, therefore all his works are original and one-of-a-kind. Zvi’s creation process is deliberate, incremental, and precise, in which the journey of honing down, refining and crystallizing concepts is what he finds most exhilarating.

Kenneth Zablotsky

In 2016, Channan Tzvi (Kenny) of West Hartford started collecting Hamsas and began his journey reconnecting to his Jewish Culture via the appreciation of this ancient symbol from a design based approach. The Hamsa symbols enriched Kenny’s life by providing a pathway that encouraged him to explore his Judaism and ancestry in a way he had not thought possible. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, while living in New York, he began utilizing common Hamsa charms as a meditative art form, gluing Hamsas together to create different sculptural objects. Hamsas of Munkatch was formalized in 2022, and a retail website jewishjoy.co was launched in 2023 with further adaptations of that initial #JewishJoy.

Located in Windsor, Connecticut, the Windsor Art Center is a nonprofit organization that promotes the visual and performing arts, and presents visual art exhibits showcasing the works of a variety of artists working in diverse media.
